NEW Sparkle Girlz Fashions for Spring & Summer

Let's take a break from crazy shall we? I'm referring to the whole Walter & Deirdre drama. I stopped at a Walmart today for an in-store pickup item that wasn't available at any of my neighborhood stores. Fortunately, my journey 20 miles out of the way was rewarded when I strolled down the doll aisle and saw NEW Sparkle Girlz fashions priced at $1.97 each. I tried to get pictures of as many as I could, but to be honest I just don't have the patience to lay them all out neatly for photographs. These pictures were taken with my phone, so I apologize in advance if any are dark and/or fuzzy.

In the first picture, you can see the lovely volunteers modeling three of the four fashions I purchased. Jessie and Marisa are wearing Mattel shoes. Lily is wearing the sneakers she came in. I'm showing you the back of Lily's dress, so you can see that it does close. I had a hunch that it would fit her curvy frame, and was delighted to see that I was correct. The straps are tucked in for the photograph. They will need to be lengthened for the dress to fit properly. I don't sew, but even I can handle a task that simple.

  1. Aha! You captured more than I remember seeing on my Walmart trip today! It was great excitement, as the other Walmart I went to yesterday definitely did NOT have these.

I bought the orange fluffy dress and five more outfits... took the photos today but didn't get any further. I considered the pink top and flowered pants and may do that one later, but didn't even see the long dress.

    1. Orange fluffy dress? I don't think I saw an orange fluffy dress. Now I'm really curious to see what you bought. I really wanted that green and white collared dress but the hem was badly snagged.

    2. The one on the left with the denim jacket is what I call the "orange fluffy one," possibly because on my last Chic Boutique girl, that dress is very tropical and bodacious.

I did get the green-and-white collared dress, which turns out to be harder to put on anybody than I expected. It requires a long neck and the ability to sit like a lady. My stumbling block in dressing gals was that I was buying these primarily for the fakies and the Polar Bear Club, many of whom sit with a cheerful lack of propriety.

    1. Thanks! Now all Lily needs is a pair of sandals and a casual updo then she'll be ready for a laid back summer day.

    1. Yes, very cute...and more variety this time I think. I feel like they widened the range of colors, fabrics, and silhouettes even more than before.

  6. Those clothes look so much better on the model than packaged. I would have passed by them, but seeing how they look being modeled, I may think twice. Thanks, for the preview.

  7. Your Walmart has a really good selection. Mine only had a few of these. I will check another Walmart later in the week. I see a few I would love to have. Great post! The models are cute!

    1. Thanks! I'm excited to see if I run across some other options when I make my next Walmart run. The ladies send their appreciation for the compliment. They're ready for the weather to warm up and stay that way. I've reminded them that this is GA, so it might be snowing again next week.

  8. And here I was thinking that I didn't need anymore doll clothes since I found a bunch at the Thrift Store. Guess I was wrong!

    1. I know exactly what you mean. Every time I think I have enough of something, I find more that I need or want.

    1. You're welcome, Grandmommy. I employ the stare 'n stroll system of buying doll clothes myself. I stare and then stroll up and down the aisle and then return to stare some more...come to think of it, that's how I shop for my own clothes. It's part of the reason my husband loathes shopping with me.

  11. What Walmart did you go to? They had quite the selection. I might as well start there. They have a ton that I see I want. Not to mention, I've been gifting clothes to the 7 yr old I tutor when she wins the weekly math game we play.

    1. This Walmart (Memorial Dr in Decatur)was out of the way, but the selection was great. I love that the little girl gets such cool prizes for winning the weekly game!

    2. Thanks. That Walmart is about 7 minutes from my house. I will definitely check them out.
